Readings

Chapter 2
This chapter talked about a lot of different and important topics. Edit your work, Artist Statement, Editions, marketing and branding your work. All very important to me editing your work can be the hardest thing. You as the artist have your favorite photos but they might not always work with your theme. Sometimes you just have to let the photo go. Another important part is your website , it has to reflect you as an artist. Sometimes that is the first thing a client or galleries sees.

Chapter 3
Goals as an artist. Do you want to show in a gallery, have a museum exhibition or sell work online. Me personal I do not think I will show or sell my work in a gallery. Its not for me, I might stick with selling my work online or go in a different direction.

Chapter 4
This chapter has a long of key information about image size and portfolio reviews. You want to always pay attention to the rules and guidelines for entering your work into a review or show. IF something is wrong the judges might not consider your work.

Mollie Schaidt update

hello all,

I finished the book for the class. I really enjoyed the book actually. I thought it was a easy read and was very informative. I took lots of notes from the text about just how to market yourself as a artist. I got tips for my website and other social media. As well as tips for proposals for my work and submitting to galleries/calls for entry.

I recently had another shoot last weekend of my family. I am currently still editing, and will have new prints for the final crit. I also want to start adding new media forms to my site such as audio. I am starting to think of my work in installation form.
