Harrison Parker Crusade for Your Art: pt4

this chapter ends with good tips after marketing and website and social media are clean and learned what it's like to create an exhibition. Now it's time to have a pitch about your work that ties it all together. After college, many thoughts have gone through my head about funding and how ill be able to pay for other lenses and tools when coming to photography. this chapter also explains how that's possible with photography grants. Even having a campaign and having people fund something that you working on, and goes into explaining how it works and how a photographer can benefit from it. I necessarily didn't even know pr real thing about doing something like crowdfunding but it seems that people have done it and can help me in the long run if I need to.

Harrison Parker Crusade for Your Art: pt3

This chapter was revolving around how to present to a gallery and set up for one at that. it was nice reading this while in the senior show class and was very helpful while going through the real-life process of preparing for a gallery. Between the class and what the book said there are very similar to each other. One thing that I sought interest in was selling work online and how that was possible. giving a tip to be cautious about it what the outcome might be if a gallery wants to buy or doesn't buy online.  To me, that seems about right because you don't know what the end of it will be or if a galley even accepts that, or even selling over a website.

Harrison Parker Crusade for Your Art: pt 2

at the beginning of the chapter, It was mainly stuff we talked about for the past years. talking about artist statements, sizing editing, project statements, and much more. the things that came to my attention the most were the pricing, and how to think about that. The tips that came after that were marking, logo, and branding. I have been thinking about this a lot more now coming to the end of college and going and making a name for myself in the photo world. the question I related to the most was" if an image is sold what is the minimum amount you would want to receive? I had the idea of this for a long time and now have a better understanding of a way of pricing images.

Harrison Parker Crusade for Your Art: pt 1

In the first chapter of the book, it seemed like a generation of photography and introduced in a way that the rest of the book will possibly entitle. To me, it was a repeat of some information that I got in classes throughout college. One point that stood out to me the most in this chapter was more about the residency programs. I didn't know necessarily what they were, but after learning and understanding that it's like a small community for artists to create and connect with one another. In the coming future that is something I am definitely interested in, I believe it will keep my head in the [photography world and keep a focus on the community around me whether it be a small part or the whole thing.

Final Selection of Images to use + Artist Statement

I remember the lighted boat parade, the way the air smelled at festivals, and I remember the afternoon walks my family took along the walkway. It’s a place that’s familiar to me, a place that makes me think of home. The way the water shimmers, all the boats that crowd the area, people gathering and greeting each other as they pass by. Reflecting upon memories is important to me because I feel as though life is so fleeting and not everything sticks around forever. I enjoy the nostalgic aura that my work brings to me and portrays.

Install and final of the show Harrison Parker

it is not letting me upload a video of the slide show and what it looks like in the gallery but I do have the photos of all the images. here they are. I think the show went very well and everyone's pieces fit well where they were. I was very excited though the whole process of it.

Post 12: Installation and Exhibition

Last week we installed in the Gordon Galleries, did gallery talks and opened the exhibition. There was a big turn out and it was nice to see how well everyone's work came out.
