Rachel Trautmann: Chapter One

Most of the first chapter seemed like fairly general knowledge for all of us at this point. I think highlighting the need to edit down is something that can't be said enough. We all have had five(ish) photos that were almost identical and it felt painful to narrow it down to one. I think all photographs run into editing issues so it is something all of us should be mindful of.

I also appreciated that the chapter got a little nostalgic with mentioning how new photographers seem to photograph everything. I think something that could help a lot of photographers is simply to photograph more BUT also to photograph everything around them. It may not be photographs for whatever they were working on but I think it refreshes the passion behind taking photographs.
