Proposal

I have three ideas for exploring this semester:
  1. 13 Months
    • Continue documenting my local Ethiopian Orthodox Church
  2. Painting With Light
    • A collection of photos that display light being used and manipulated in many different ways in a photo  
  3. No title yet 
    • Document my visit to Ethiopia, very stylistically. Will be heavily influenced by Tyrone Lebon and Wolfgang Tillmans

    I really like your Ethiopian Orthodox Church idea! If you're leaning away from that, I'd suggest your untitled series over light writing...unless you have experience in light writing. You can easily make it work but it is hard to make light writing look like more than people just playing with flashlights. I'm all about it though so if you think you're up to it, do it!

    Is the light writing anything more than a pretty picture? Why do you want to work in the style of lebon and Timans? Is there conceptual reason for this style?

    have you considered branching out in to the Ethiopian community? In light of our current administration it could be very interested to go deeper into this community and not just church.
