Project Update "Effy"

Hey Guys,

Just a quick update. I've got another set of photos to go along with previous photos. Also, I wrote up a Project Statement that I feel defines what this series is, and why I'm doing it. Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks!

“Effy”

Confident but unsure. Naieve and young. Headstrong and willing. Black on porcelain. Boots. Leather. Dark Eyes. A cheap band T-shirt to sport around even though she’s only heard their music once before.
“Sure, whatever, I’ll do it,” she says taking the pill and dry swallowing it. This is Effy and this is the world she inhabits.
In this series, we are entranced by Effy through appearance and action as we navigate into her world. We see who she is, her nocturnal habits, and the colorful people she meets. We are brought to various city and urban dwellings and we travel with the vagabond that is Effy. However, we are also exposed to the various people she interacts with and their smoking, drinking and drug influences on her.
I created this series to continue my passion for story telling through photographs. I had been working on this story for a while now in the form of a novel. However, it didn’t occur to me until I started making this series that another reason I made it was to have a “tableau” series that brought up addiction awareness. This series poses as a story that alerts viewers on current issues shaping out world such as cigarette smoking that causes cancer, legalization and management of Marijuana, crucial usage and over dosages of Heroin, and other malevolent drug usages especially among our youth.

  1. HUGE improvement. I am so excited for you. The new locations are working. I think the orange yellow light in the alley is great and the blue light room! The playground is too light. I think the darker works better. Keep going!!!
