Studio Shoot

This past weekend I took my friend John into the studio to get some shots. I used two soft boxes, now on each side, along with the natural light coming through the window. I had him posed along the wall, but then the color of his shirt was interfering with the photo so I added a gray background. I was bouncing back and fourth with different strategies using the soft box, when finally I had this brilliant idea. I posted John directly infront of the soft box and placed the other one directly behind me, (so I could achieve the catch light). This did not create a silhouette because he was illuminated all around, and I lowered my aperture to let in more light. This lighting gave him a very angelic look. By this point his shirt is off which helps for the context of this piece as well. I will be posting pictures soon, I have two other models I plan to shoot during this week who are both girls which should be very intersting, but I plan on using that same lighting technique to see what flows, but I will still experiment with the soft boxes and natural lighting to bring attention to the facial features.
