This semester I am starting a new project. To finish my career at ODU my final photo project will be a "tribute to art school." Over the past four years I have grown and learned so much about many different mediums.
My plan at this point is to create the following:
3D sculpture
charcoal drawing
oil painting
I will capture the processes of creation through a mixture of still lives and staged portraits. I am in the process of reaching out to professors for access to studios in order to photograph in the places where I actually took classes in person. For studio space I cannot access, I will be setting up artist corners in my house. Some classrooms I will have very limited access to and will be using a mixture of pictures of the location with at home work.
Will your final work be the sculpture, drawing and oil painting or the photographs or both? Think about what the photographs will bring to this. Are they merely documenting the project or do they function as art themselves? Greta Pratt
