So I've just been trying to experiment with different types of music and trying to find unique setups to represent this. When I say types of music I don't really mean genre, but more so Happy, Sad, Love music. I've taken a few pictures of a couple of setups and I plan to do more with my friend's speaker. I want to focus more on party music this week since I've been more focused on the calm side of music.
It is hard to tell what is written on the paper at this size but I feel this is an interesting direction. Water gives you a metaphor for many things. The record player needs a little work. Maybe crop tight on the spinning record so one does not know exactly what it is at first glance maybe add some lights. Otherwise it is too easy. The radio dial is also too easy. With those two it is more like you are telling me something with words rather than shoing me something visually.
ReplyDeleteI dont think you need to cover a lot of kinds of music as much as make the viwer fell something.
ReplyDeletetyping too fast (viewer feel) Music does not tell us with words what it is it gives us sound. Photo is a visual medium so you need to show us not explain it. I think you should go much wilder.
ReplyDeleteReally liking the sheet music or note in the water idea....theres something there, maybe a tighter crop could push it to make the composition stronger? Looking forward to see what you come up with over spring break!
